Why Admins?
Lets face it. community online is hard
We believe that friendships are at the core of all Catholic innovation. Friendships are the foundation for everything Catholic Creatives does.
As we grow larger, it is harder and harder for people who participate in this movement to be drawn into real friendships. The default for online groups and communities is anonymity and battles over ideology. We have always aspired to be different.
What is An Admin?
Admins have always been the front lines, the day in and day out faces of Catholic Creatives to creatives who deeply desire community.
A Catholic Creatives Facebook Admin models our values in our online forums by starting and moderating relevant online discussions.
Our admins serve as encouraging community builders who guide our tribe to participate fruitfully in the Facebook group by following our post guidelines and moderating discussions.
Our admins engage in relationships and friendships, so that community participants feel welcome and belonging as much as possible in an online community.
The Next Hero Admin Could Be You
Commitment (What you can expect):
Our team consists of 7-10 active admins such that each person bears responsibility for keeping up with the group on their assigned day of the week. On their day, the admin responsible reviews member-submitted post suggestions or comes up with their own posts to keep community, conversations, and collaborations alive and growing.
Admins also help review new member requests and participate in our admin chat to discuss larger objectives, give each other advice on admin decisions, and support our subgroup leaders. Less formally, admins are expected to engage the community through group post discussions and private relationships when possible - to perform your ministry well, it’s important to know and smell of the people you’re serving!
Overall you should expect 1-2 hours on one one day per week minimum, but you can always put in as much time as you want (we’ve found as is with most things in life, the more you put in, the more you tend to get out) but we also respect that this is an unpaid volunteer role and we all lead busy lives. To avoid burning out this volunteer role and to keep our team fresh, diverse, and eager, each admin only commits to a one year term, but may reapply as desired.
Our Admins generally spend 1 hour / week on one day / week, plus staying friends and participating in the community of admins.
